Joseph A. Astaphan | MD, DDS, CLHRP
Silk™ is owned and operated by Medical Doctor, Joseph A. Astaphan, MD, DDS, CLHRP. Dr. Astaphan has a very diverse background and takes pride in bringing the latest medical technology and health services to his patients. The doctor graduated from Howard University School of Dentistry in 1976, and then trained as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Harlem Hospital-Columbia University graduating 1982. Dr. Astaphan left the dental field and entered medical school at Howard University College of Medicine. After graduating from medical school in 1985, he trained as an anesthesiologist at NYU-Bellevue Hospital in NYC completing his training in 1989.
Dr. Astaphan is Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Astaphan became involved in “Anti-aging and Complementary Medicine” in 1996. He feels that offering laser and aesthetic technology is a natural progression to complement his work in the field of anti-aging. The doctor is a “Certified Laser Hair Removal Professional”, and continuously strives to offer the most current techniques available to all of his patients.
